Role of temperature and pH in Cu(Oh)2 solubility

Article Abstract:

Researchers from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute discovered that changes in the solubility of cupric hydroxide solubility constants is due to age, kinetic limitations in approaching equilibrium, and the transient formation of copper nitrate solids and is controlled by the pH and temperature among other factors.

Funtionalized sol-gels for selective copper(II) separation

Article Abstract:

Researchers from the University of Tennessee and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory studied the ethylenediamine-anchored silica sol-gels and mercapto ligands as new sorbents for Cu2+ separation. The gels were found to be selective for Cu2+ removal in the presence of Cd2+ or Zn2+.
