Shear bliss: a bioreactor grows cells that resemble real tissue

Article Abstract:

Skin cultures from space shuttle trips are protected from shear forces created in landings and launchings by a rotating wall bioreactor. The skin cells grow with very similar characteristics as those found in the body. The research might assist those needing organs in the future.
