Software for reliable networks

Article Abstract:

Software scientists are working on programs designed to reduce the chances of distributed computer network failures. Active replication is one process used by programmers to reduce the chances of a network crash. Programmers at Cornell University have developed two packages using this technique.

The potential of wireless communication networks for data communications has not been fully realized in comparison to cellular telephone services. The continuing developments in technology are expected to result in wider acceptance of wireless data systems in the business sectors.
