Software matchmakers help make sense of sequences

Article Abstract:

Computational molecular biology seeks to infer the functions of gene sequences from related genes and proteins whose functions have already been determined. The popularity of sequencing projects and increasing use of the Internet has precipitated an explosion of new software tools for inferring gene-sequence functions.
