Data delivery

Article Abstract:

UK car manufacturer Rover expects to speed up the introduction of new designs through its newly installed computer-aided-design database management system. The system allows the transfer and sharing of the design drawings and data through the various departments involved in product development. The new system was needed because the old system which was composed of IBM SQL/DL and Oracle database systems was incapable of supporting the company's concept of 'whole model' product development practice.
