Strategic technology assessment, future products and competitive advantage

Article Abstract:

Manufacturers should initiate a technology planning and forecasting process supported by a multidisciplinary research activities to maintain their competitiveness. This, however, requires a flexible and practical technology assessment methodology. It also requires a continuous effort redefine product development and technology innovations within the context of corporate strategies, future consumer needs and competitors' activities in the same direction.

The research on the measurement of corporate technology capability

Article Abstract:

The degree of technology capability within a firm is investigated. Sharif and Ramanathan's (1987) and Autio and Laamanen's (1995) viewpoints are considered. Taiwan's electronics and electrical industries are chosen as research population. Results confirm the validity of measurement questionnaires after such a task. Data also have valuable contributions to the theory of technology transfer and changes in its practice.

TA positions and TA storylines: towards a social constructionist framework of technology assessment

Article Abstract:

Technology assessment (TA), when considered from a social constructionist perspective, is informed by its status as a social and scientific discipline. Although it has been institutionalized in the political system, in the academic arena and in firms, positioning theory may be applied to develop a new approach towards TA practice based on the link between technology and social change.
