Strong arm tactics at Sellafield

Article Abstract:

Innovative Business Solutions (INBIS) designed a multi-purpose manipulator for use in decommissioning procedures at Sellafield in Cumbria and in line with the individual requirements of four BNFL project teams. The Commander robotic arm was developed in cooperation with BE Ltd, engineering subsidiary firm located at Salford Quays. The robotic arm's durability, six degrees of freedom and the use of hydraulic vane actuators to move the main joints easily moves heavy payloads within the work place. Commander's servo actuators transmit commands to the servo controller to determine the movement of each joint.

Thier maintains that the development of new technologies need not hurt owing to the cut in the cost of hospital stay and reduced medical complications. However, the managed-care system should not be used to promote the lowest-cost care at the expense of research on better treatments.
