Technological designs for retention and reuse

Article Abstract:

Firms are increasingly designing technological systems to make them modularly upgradable and ease the retention and reuse of components. With technological systems modularly upgradable, new components can be easily integrated into a system without having to redesign or reconstruct the entire system. Object-oriented programming is used to illustrate how modular upgradability can facilitate the retention and reuse of software modules.
