The Internet is learning to censor itself

Article Abstract:

The World Wide Web Consortium is developing the Platform for Internet Content Selection (PICS) in response to the demand for censorship of the Internet. Web sites can rate themselves, or they can have an agency provide ratings on the basis of criteria such as sex, violence and language.
