Changed enantiomer composition of metolachlor in surface water following the introduction of the enantiomerically enriched product to the market

Article Abstract:

Researchers from the Swiss Federal Research Station investigated replacement of racemic metolachlor by the herbicide S-metolachlor from two lakes in Switzerland and verified the replacement by the determination of selective enantiomers in sample surface water.

Diuron degradation in irradiated, heterogeneous iron/oxalate systems: the rate-determining step

Article Abstract:

A laboratory study measuring the degradation of the herbicide diuron is described, using goethite and oxalate to increase the rate of photochemical degradation. The photo-Fenton system is graphed for photochemical reactions during the reduction process.

The application of high resolution-magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy for the study of structures and associations of organic components at the solid-aqueous interface of a whole soil

Article Abstract:

Soil samples from an oak forest in County Kerry, Ireland are studied, with and without the addition of the herbicide trifluralin, using high resolution-magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Graphs show the spectra of whole soil mixed with two different solvents, and the reactions following herbicide addition.
