The blue zone; even though oceans and seas cover 70 percent of the planet, their vast size hasn't protected them from harm

Article Abstract:

Overfishing, the onslaught of industrial wastes and physical changes along the coastlines stemming from the construction of bridges and dams are threatening the marine environment. British Columbia's Fraser River has endured 70% of such alterations for the past 115 years.

Breaking down the barriers

Article Abstract:

Barriers to the realization of the objectives of the Go for Green campaign in Canada include lack of outdoor recreational facilities and personal safety risks. The campaign urges Canadians to do simple outdoor tasks that will have a positive effect on their environment.
