The end or the means: programs or basics

Article Abstract:

Organizations integrate the practices of other successful organizations in their operations by copying features of these practices into their corporate-wide, top-down programs. However, it was found that the adoption of these programs is ineffective because of their lack of specifity and concrete visual communications to employees. The success of corporate programs can be attained if employees are given actionable information that gives them a working environment prepared for change and learning.

An examination of organization and suborganization readiness for total quality management

Article Abstract:

A reliable measure was proposed to assess the readiness for total quality management (TQM) of organization and suborganization. In assessing TQM readiness, the measure creates a distinction between organizational and employee's attitudes towards performance excellence and collective work. Such effort is undertaken since the formal espoused policies may be different from the perceived actual employees practices.
