The evaluating model for the technology needs of Taiwan high-tech industries

Article Abstract:

An evaluating model for the technology requirements of Taiwan's high-technology industries is developed. The model is based on three stages, namely analysis of product vehicles, analysis of technology developmental targets and the planning of developmental technology. The evaluating model can be employed by Taiwan's government-supported research institutes which can aid the industries achieve their production goals. To illustrate the model, a case study of Taiwan's semiconductor industry is provided.

Aspects on high technology transfer

Article Abstract:

Studies have revealed that the lifecycle of products in the high technology industry is very short and no set of universal instructions for successful transfer can be said to exist. The control of methods is important in identifying which technology is absent and which need to be developed. High technology products usually have short lifecycles. To optimize benefits, transferring technology must be done along with the people who are well-versed with it.
