The future looks bright for blue LEDs

Article Abstract:

The development of blue light-emitting diodes (LED) has further boosted illumination technology. The process for creating blue LEDs was discovered by Nichia Chemical Industries researcher Shuji Nakamura in 1993. Organic LEDs are also being developed and are expected to be commercially available by 1997.

Radar for cars

Article Abstract:

Nissan Diesel Motor Company Ltd has developed a radar system, called 'Traffic Eye,' that indicates when the vehicle is approaching another vehicle, or a curve, too rapidly. Trucking companies that are using the device are reporting lower accident rates.
