The hole story; fine-pore membranes remove viruses from biological drugs

Article Abstract:

Several US firms are developing membrane-based products that eliminate viral contamination of therapeutic agents derived from tissues or grown in mammalian cells. The products use membranes with extremely small, uniform holes that retain contaminants but allow therapeutic agents to flow through.
