An international space station is scheduled to be launched by the NASA before the end of year 2003. With financing from a coalition of 16 nations, the space station was preassembled by Boeing using technology from its 777 program.

Living on Alpha

A description is presented of the difficulties which are faced by the astronauts who live on the space station Alpha. The training which they undertake and the problems posed by living in a gravity free atmosphere are discussed.
