Fractals are a unique kind of geometric figures which have found a wide array of applicationns in the field of physics, biology, astronomy and many others. Fractal geometry can be used to describe formation of colloidal structures and mimic eelectrochemical processes. Fractal reaction kinetics describes the movement of two chemical species in low dimensions and can be seen in the action of heterogenous catalysts and protein movements in living systems.

Institutional investors established a strong presence in the Bordeaux, France, region in the 1980s through purchasing vineyards. Institutions are now retreating from the region, but small, family-owned vineyards are still under threat, this time from rich Frenchmen from outside the region. Some of the new investors have actually established a permanent home in their vineyard, and are showing imagination and enthusiasm.
