Salt-thermal zeolitization of fly ash

Article Abstract:

Fly ash derived from anthracite coal from a power station in Yeongwoel, Korea is put through a salt-thermal zeolitization treatment without water. Graphs of conversion stages show the lack of zeolitization through the salt-thermal method.

Transport of rare earth element-tagged soil particles in response to thunderstorm runoff

Article Abstract:

Soils in an agricultural field at Treynor, Iowa and a natural prairie at Harlan, Iowa are tagged with rare elements europium, terbium, and holmium to measure the downhill diffusion of fine particulate matter in the environment during thunderstorms. Graphs show the movement of the elements as compared to predictive models.

Sorption of phenanthrene by reference smectites

Article Abstract:

Smectites are used to sorb aqueous phenanthrene to determine the method of hydrophobic organic compound sorption in sediments and soils. Graphs show the sorption of phenanthrene into various smectites, and the structure of a smectite is drawn to show the physical method of sorption.
