Uniaxial ratchetting of 316FR steel at room temperature- Part I: experiments

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that material uniaxial ratchetting occurs at room temperature through a slight opening in hysteresis loops and viscoplasticity . Data further show that strain hardening in stainless steel is governed by kinematic hardening during rachetting process.

Uniaxial ratchetting of 316FR steel at room temperature- Part II: constitutive modeling and simulation

Article Abstract:

Results demonstrate that under stress cycling regime, ratchetting is dependent on viscoplasticity and hysteresis loops during early and subsequent cycles. Data also show that under zero-to-tension ratchetting is mainly dependent on viscoplasticity of stainless steel.

This article discusses a model developed in the framework of continuum damage mechanics to describe process of embrittlement, damage growth and elastic-plastic deformation in pressure vessel steel water reactors exposed to neutron irradiation.
