When good health is good business: the new head of the World Health Organization, Gro Harlem Brundtland, argues that providing good health care can boost the bottom line

Gro Harlem Brundtland is calling on governments and corporations to invest in health care programs to help alleviate destitution and suffering. She argues that such initiatives are good not only from a humanitarian perspective but also in terms of profitability because improving public health significantly cuts costs.

Discerning CERN

Completion of the world's largest particle accelerator, dubbed as Large Electron Positron (LEP) collider, is underway in Geneva, Switzerland. To be housed in the CERN particle physics laboratory, LEP is an instrument used in generating fast-moving, high-energy electron beams.
