Functional status and self-rated health in 2,262 nonagenarians: the Danish 1905 cohort survey

Article Abstract:

This article used a survey of Danish adults born in 1905 to assess the functional status and overall health of a cohort of nonagenarians. Findings indicate that participants reported that they were in good health and had high levels of life satisfaction despite a high incidence of physical disabilities.

Predictors of mortality in 2,249 Nonagenarians- the Danish 1905-Cohort Survey

Article Abstract:

A study is undertaken to find whether the predictors of mortality for younger old persons have the same effect on the oldest old and also whether the survival of the oldest old is a stochastic process. Several Danes born are assessed for sociodemographic factors, smoking, alcohol consumption, body mass index, physical and cognitive performance.
