Black and white differences in cognitive function test scores: What explains the difference?

Article Abstract:

An attempt is made to evaluate whether differences in health and socioeconomic indicators, including literacy level, could explain differences in cognitive function test scores between older African American and European American adults. It suggests that African American participants had lower unadjusted cognitive function scores than European American participants, but after adjustment for socioeconomic factors and other variables, the difference in scores between them decreased substantially.

The association between physical function and lifestyle activity and exercise in the health, aging and body composition study

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted among older adults to check if the physical activity is better than no activity for protection against functional limitations. It is seen that older adults who participate in moderate-intensity exercise on most of the days have better physical function than those who are active throughout the day or who are inactive.
