Detection and management of cognitive impairment in primary care; the steel valley seniors survey

Article Abstract:

The characteristics of older primary care patients who are cognitively impaired and who underwent mental status testing by their physicians are identified using cross-sectional and retrospective analysis. The physicians tested mental status in those with documented cognitive and functional difficulties in very mildly impaired patients and in those for whom they intervened.

Pathology and pathways of Alzheimer's disease with an update on new developments in treatment

Article Abstract:

The authors suggests drug therapy and other therapies for Alzheimer's disease and therapies to prevent Alzheimer's in high risk patients. Prevention techniques include reducing blood cholesterol, immunotherapy, antioxidant use and anti-inflammatory drug use.
