Curricular framework: core competencies in multicultural geriatric care

Article Abstract:

The university of California Academic Geriatric Resource Program partnered with the Ethnogeriatric Committee of the American Geriatric Society to develop a curricular framework to assist geriatric faculty. The core competencies of the framework are based on the format of the core competencies for the care of older patients developed by the Education Committee of the American Geriatrics Society.

Conceptions of dementia in a multiethnic sample of family caregivers

Article Abstract:

Importance of integrating culturally competent care by caregivers for older people from different ethnic backgrounds who suffer from dementia is discussed. Methods of implementing such measures are also suggested.
