Ethnic variation in site of death of older adults dually eligible for Medicaid and Medicare

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the deaths of elderly persons in America between 1997 and 2000 based on the Medicaid and Medicare claims is presented. According to the study, fewer blacks and latinos availed the services of hospice care when compared to whites. The reasons for this difference are discussed. The need to ensure that elderly persons from all races understand that hospice care means less pain when compare to home care are also discussed.

Medication safety in older adults: home-based practice patterns

Article Abstract:

A study on community dwelling older adults' medication taking practices at home, on high-risk medication, is presented. The results indicate that, substantial number of adults have reported receiving no instructions on the use of these medications. The other results are also detailed.
