A review of aging in the United States dealing with demographics, infections, statistics, functions, research, features, outcomes, and instruments used to assess functional status is presented. The need for reliable functional assessment in elderly is emphasized.

Health care for older people in Ireland

Research shows that although specialist medical care and psychiatric services for the elderly are on the rise in Ireland, resources and funding continue to lag behind official policy. Legislation may be required to provide adequate allocation.

Intraindividual variability and the effect of acute illness on immune senescence markers

Article Abstract:

The intraindividual variability and the impact of severe disease on immune senescence markers are ascertained. The results are based on an age bracket study with repeated measures.
