Exercise leads to faster postural reflexes, improved balance and mobility, and fewer falls in older persons with chronic stroke

Article Abstract:

The impact of two different exercise programs on motor functioning of older adults with chronic stroke is assessed. Though both are community based group programs, outcome measures for the agility exercise (dynamic balance based) were more positive than strectching/ weight shifting program. The exercises significantly improved postural reflexes, balance and mobility, step reaction time and could help prevent falls.
