Family involvement in End-of-life hospital care

Article Abstract:

An examination whether the end of life treatment provided to hospitalized patients differed from those having a family member present at death and those who did not is presented. It was observed that the presence of a family member at death appeared to be an indirect measure of family involvement during patients' hospitalization and reduced the use of technology and increases the use of comfort care as patients die.
