Modifiable risk factors predict functional decline among older women: A prospectively validated clinical prediction tool

Article Abstract:

This article examines the indicators which can predict a decline in both vigorous and basic activities in older women. Vision impairment and combined vision and hearing impairment predict cognitive and functional decline in older women

Article Abstract:

A study to determine the association between vision and hearing impairment and subsequent cognitive and functional decline in community decline in community-residing older women is presented. Among the five thousand three hundred forty-five participants in the Study of Osteoporotic Fractures (SOF) 15.7 percent had cognitive decline whereas 10.1 percent had functional decline.
