My, how history changes the way our lives turn out! A tale of three classes from a high school in Missouri

Article Abstract:

Graduates of Springfield Central High School in Springfield, MO, in 1945, 1955 and 1945 are compared. Members of the Class of '65 were found to have a higher level of education than members of the Classes of '45 and '55, but their had a lower median household net worth and a lower level of contentment.

Older employees who find themselves out of work because of corporate downsizing should not despair but strive to develop new goals and find new jobs. Resourcefulness, self-confidence, persistence and the desire to learn are traits that can help such an individual achieve renewed success.
