Telomeres. telomerase, and telomerase inhibition: clinical implications for cancer

Article Abstract:

Cancer, telomerase, and telomerase inhibition are discussed in this literature review article . Telomerase activity is correlated directly with expression of its active catalytic comp onent, the human telomerase re verse transcriptase (hTERT) , which is controlled mainly at the transcription level. Roles telomerase and hTERT play in the relationship between aging and cancer are not yet known .
