Paget's disease of bone (osteitis deformans)

Article Abstract:

Paget's disease is considered the second most common bone disease after osteoporosis. It can cause function and mobility problems for older people. Patients often complain about joint pain, back pain, and hearing loss. Seasonal variations in serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D and parathyroid hormone but no detectable change in femoral neck bone density in an older population with regular outdoor exposure

Article Abstract:

Research shows that regular exposure to daylight during summer months may enhance the health of elderly populations. Studies were conducted on Swedish men and women between the ages of 79 and 96 who spent a minimum of three hours a week outside from April through September.
