Site of death on the hospital versus nursing home of Medicare skilled nursing facility residents admitted under MedicareEs part a benefit

Article Abstract:

The aim of the study is to determine skilled nursing facility (SNF) patient and facility characteristics associated with death in hospital rather than a nursing home (NH). The study concluded that the patients and facility characteristics predict site death of Medicare NH patients, but in-hospital death rather than NH death varies geographically and is associated with higher daily Medicare payment.
