Predictive factors of in-hospital mortality in older patients admitted to a medical intensive care unit

Risk factors for in-hospital mortality for elderly intensive care patients include moderate and severe cognitive impairment and lower functional independence, in addition to acute physiological impairments.

Home hospitalization service for acute uncomplicated first ischemic stroke in elderly patients: a randomized trial

Article Abstract:

Home treatment of elderly patients with acute ischemic stroke is evaluated. The elderly patients on home-treatment have better depressive scores and lower rates of admission to nursing homes.
