The effect of aging on circulating levels of proinflammatory cytokines during septic shock

Article Abstract:

This article examines the relationship between aging and circulating concentrations of proinflammatory cytokines in older adults diagnosed with septic shock. Findings indicate that advanced age is not associated with reductions in levels of circulatory proinflammatory cytokines.

Age-related changes of circadian rhythms and sleep-wake cycles

Article Abstract:

Results indicate that early rising in the elderly is not fully explained by a relative circadian system phase advance. It is posited that advanced illumination and evening naps may also cause circadian system advancement in aging.
