Worker displacement and job-search: a regional analysis of structural impediments to reemployment

Article Abstract:

Studies are carried out to determine the relationship between industrial restructuring and the employment distribution across various industries. The studies are performed using regional distribution data on worker displacement and reemployment. Results show that the incidence of job loss caused by industrial restructuring is affected by the regional economic conditions and human capital endowments.

The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) was established to provide European Union (EU) members with financial support in their infrastructure projects. Studies based on the exploratory frequency method and the PARADISE model shows that the ERDF helps many EU member nations attract private investments through ERDF-funded infrastructure programs.
