Factorial validity of Maslach burnout inventory - Dutch version (MBI-NL) among dentists

Article Abstract:

A modified Dutch version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) is developed to study burnout among dentists. The three-factor structure of the MBI was tested against alternative structures among dentists. A representative sample of 709 Dutch dentists were both examined for confirmatory factor analysis and principal components analysis. The underlying data showed that the three-factor structure had the best fit while other psychometric qualities were very satisfactory. The results showed that the Dutch version of the MBI is highly suitable in measuring burnout among dentists.
