Does funding for HIV and sexually transmitted disease prevention matter?: Evidence from panel data

Article Abstract:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has allocated a huge amount of money for the prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in the United States. Using the state-level data from 1981-1998 it was concluded that funding for STD and HIV prevention, on the whole, appears to have a discernable impact on the incidence of STDs.

The costs of pursuing accreditation for methadone treatment sites: results from a national study

Article Abstract:

A study examining the costs involved in pursuing accreditation in methadone treatment sites, is presented. These sites underwent accreditation as part of the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment's evaluation of the Opioid Treatment Program Accreditation Project.
