Article Abstract:

Intricate decision-making processes can be improved through process management, which aims at introducing variety, retention and selection into the decision-making process. The process arrangement mechanisms like variety, retention and selection could be imitated in the decision-making process, thus allowing evolution to take place in the process, which will result in an improved decision.

Innovation in open source communities through processes of variation and selection

Article Abstract:

The process in which developers belonging to the open source communities develop innovative software is analyzed, where the open source communities are considered to be self-organizing systems with high levels of variation. Selection also forms a part of the innovation as it is based on the principle of copying and following the tags.
