Heart of the experience

Article Abstract:

American Charters of Freedom, the declaration of independence, the Constitution and the Bill of rights were officially enshrined in the Rotunda of the National Archives building in Washington D.C on December 15, 1952. The long journey of the Charters from their creation to their home is described, along with the painstaking efforts that conserved both the Charters and the Faulkner murals for future generations, and explore the documents that flank the Charters in the Rotunda.
