Euro-islands: towards a European Union islands policy for development

Article Abstract:

Technology has managed to bridge the gap between long distances, thus allowing the development of human relationships and economic contacts. A nation can not exist by itself without having to trade with its neighbors. The European Union should formulate policies that will compel member nations to utilize communications technologies. Certain countries, such as Greece still have human settlements in the mountains are quite isolated from the rest of the Union. With the use of communications technologies, activities will be decentralized and national services will be accessible to all.
