Firm's R&D activity and intensity and the university-enterprise partnerships

Article Abstract:

Companies with existing R&D activity are more likely to establish links with universities than those without existing R&D activity. R&D activity promotes the exchange of knowledge and information between companies and universities. It also enables companies to have faster communication with their partner universities. Establishment of formal links with other universities is also affected by the kind of R&D activity companies have.

Analysis of the interaction between regional R&D productivity and the investment strategies of multinational enterprises

Article Abstract:

A relationship was established between regional R&D productivity and investment strategies undertaken by multinational companies. Utilization of a two-country model revealed that companies tend to subsidize R&D in order to lessen production costs. Subsidization of R&D is guided by an objective of attaining a bigger domestic share of knowledge-intensive industries.
