Green Revolution, Human Capital, and Off-Farm Employment: Changing Sources of Income among Farm Households in Central Luzon, 1966-1994(*)

Article Abstract:

Comparisons of farm household incomes prior to and after the Green Revolution indicate distinct shifts in income origin. With the adoption of fertilizers for high-yield crops, income moved away from farming and toward industrial labor. Increasing urbanization and educational achievement also redirected origins of income from traditional rural work to urban job employment.

The determinants of credit access and its impacts on micro and small enterprises: the case of garment producers in Kenya

Article Abstract:

A case study of garment manufacturers in Kenya is presented. Factors that influence their access to credit are examined. Influence of these factors on small businesses is also analyzed.
