Making a life in the field of organization science

Article Abstract:

The life of an organization scientist can be difficult but teaching and creating new knowledge are some of the perks in this profession. Luck seems to play a big role in the career of a scientist to the extent that deserving individuals do not get published in journals and their promotions denied. A proposal to help aspiring scholars in this field is presented.

The allocation of prestigious positions in organizational science: accumulative advantage, sponsored mobility, and contest mobility

Article Abstract:

A study, examining the underlying form of the position allocation system, by considering the importance of research success and prior affiliations as factors for movement and stability across positions, is presented. Three theoretical models, accumulative advantage, sponsored mobility, and contest mobility, are made use of in the study.

Standing out in the fields of organization science

Article Abstract:

Other fields of organizational science have greater consensus and there is no single field in organizational science. A greater consensus is achievable by creating closer ties between research and practice. A paradigm-informed approach is described for both career and field development.
