Midlife sexuality: The need to integrate biological, psychological, and social perspectives

Article Abstract:

There is a gradual fall in sexual activity and sexual interest at around the age of 50, accelerating after the age of 70, although sexuality remains a significant aspect of life into old age. A range of biological, psychological and social variables can have an influence on sexuality in midlife and beyond. Education about sexuality and ageing should recognize individual variation and the distinction between sexual activity and satisfaction.
