Popper's situational analysis and contemporary sociology

Article Abstract:

The utility of Karl Popper's situational analysis in contemporary sociology has been assessed. Situational analysis came out of his 1963 essay 'Models, Instruments, and Truth.' The investigation examines whether Popper was knowledgeable in sociology to be able to criticize it competently. Results show that situational analysis has several handicaps that limits it usefulness as a sociological tool. It cannot explain for the possibility of multiple equilibria and the idea of interest is absent. Several key concepts of the theory are also vaguely explained.

Some considerations about the further development of situational analysis

Article Abstract:

Karl Popper created situational analysis as an analytical tool for the social and historical sciences. He defined situational analysis as a means for understanding events in terms of human actions and social situations. However, he gave more importance to social situations and disregarded the effect of human actions. However, he ignored an important scientific finding which showed that actions have a hierarchical nature.

Situational logic and its reception

Article Abstract:

Karl Popper believed that there is a uniformity of method in the search for truth. It does not matter if the problem is about society or physical phenomena. He felt that the difference between natural and social problems is theoretical and is the result of finding out the truth. He argued that relevant social science will come out from efforts to solve practical problems of social life.
