Modularity and productivity: assessing the impact of digital technology in the U.S. telecommunications industry

Article Abstract:

A study used a unique methodology to investigate the influence of digital technology diffusion on the productivity patterns of companies constituting the local exchange segment of the US telecommunications industry. The analysis measured productivity, which is a factor correlated with competitiveness. Findings indicate that the magnitude of digital technology diffusion in these telecommunication firms significantly affects their productive efficiency.

Scenarios on the future of biotechnology

Article Abstract:

Research information into the future of biotechnology and scenarios for determining possible outcomes are given. The research study uses two drivers to explore the industries future impact on society, the extent to which integration of technology effects societies perception of biotechnology, and the degree to which society accepts biotechnology derived products as safe and viable alternatives to current products.
