Patterns of restructuring in research, development and innovation activities in central and eastern European countries: an analysis based on S & T indicators

Article Abstract:

Comparison of OECD data with R&D restructuring and innovation in central and eastern European economies (CEECs) shows different country-specific adjustment patterns for Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Russia conditioned by common institutional features, restructuring during transition and specific developments. CEECs established an intermediate position between developed and less developed economies of OECD and the EU.
