Plotting the organization; the embedded narrative as a construct for studying change

Article Abstract:

Issues are discussed regarding the continuing problem in organizational disourse of needing to interpret a discourse in relation to its context. The literary form of the embedded narrative is used as an approach, and this construct also reveals the complex dynamics of organizational change. The data are from a 12-month ethnographic study of a think tank in Silicon Valley.

The multilevel context of power negotiation understands the relationship large-scale information and communication technology (ICT) innovation and organizational change is focused. The development and use of regional health information network and some suggestions for effectively negotiating the process of change is examined.
