R&D cooperation and innovation activities of firms--evidence for the German manufacturing industry

Article Abstract:

The role of R&D cooperation in the innovation process in the simultaneous equation framework in the German manufacturing industry is investigated. Results indicate that the Joint R&D is used to complement internal resources in the innovation process enhancing the innovation input and output measured by the intensity of in-house R&D highlighting the networking effects of inter-organizational R&D arrangements.

Controlling contractual exchange risks in R&D interfirm cooperation: an empirical study

Article Abstract:

The trend towards externalization of research and development (R&D) has resulted in it becoming the most important topic in management. The methods of reduction of perceived supplier risks are discussed. An empirical study on the effect of contractual hostages on perceived risk is presented.
